Big Win To Students Who Walked 21 Km Protest Against TSC For Not Posting At Their School
Students of Sigor Day Secondary school who walked for 21km to prevent their grievances to education officers in the county have a reason to smile after the TSC county director Mr Charles Nyauma told them that their matter is going to be addressed immediately.
More than 150 students of Sigor Day Secondary School in Bomet County were in a rare protest after they trekked 21km protesting the government’s failure in posting a teacher to their institution.
The students walked for 4 hours to get to the Bomet county headquarters to present their grievances to education officers. The students said that the appeals from the school’s stakeholders have not been taken seriously and it is pointless to be in school and assume that all is well when the commission has failed to deploy teachers to the institution yet other schools are flooded with teachers in the country.
TSC county director Mr Charles Nyauma addressed the matter assuring them that immediate action is going to be taken by the commission. He urged them to continue with their studies and leave the rest to them.
Mr Nyauma later offered a bus from a neighbouring school to take them back to their institution.
