Bishop Swindle 1.4M from Believers
A renowned bishop for Pentecostal Evangelical Fellowship of Africa Church based in Kisii has been arrested by police officers over allegations of getting money by false pretence.

Following several complaints launched by different individuals who claimed that the ‘man of god’ had swindled them hundreds of thousands in an effort to secure Visas with a promise of greener pastures abroad.
In a police report seen by Citizen Digital, over 20 youth from PEFA church thronged Kisii Central police station with painful stories about the self-proclaimed General Overseer who assured them of Visas and gainful employment in different overseas countries after committing facilitation fees worth Ksh. 30,000 each.
The 60-year-old in an exclusive interview with Citizen Digital at Kisii police station however, distanced himself from the allegations saying that he wasn’t responsible for the loss of over Ksh.1.4 million from PEFA faithful, adding that there were different group members who should be held accountable for the offence.
Obonyo further called upon the security team to delve into the matter, noting that he was ready to give out his phone for perusal for any suspicious transactions.
He however agreed that there was a plan to take various youths abroad for jobs though the process was halted due to the emergence of COVID-19.
Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kases said that some of the victims were forced to travel as far as Nairobi for medical checkups only for fake doctors to appear for medical examination to give victims hope of traveling abroad.
