Male Students Burn Deputy Principal’s Office, Accuse Him of Spending More Time With The Girls and Rumour Mongering
Boys students at St. Gonzaga Secondary School torched down the office of deputy principal as they accuse him of rumour mongering. The boys allege that their deputy has a soft spot for the girls in the mixed secondary school.
The boys staged violent protest that Led to burning of the office after the rowdy students set it ablaze.
The school administration decided to close the school indefinitely to quell the situation that was getting messy so as to prevent further damage of properties.
The school is located southern central of Uganda. St. Gonzaga secondary has been indefinitely closed following restlessness by rowdy male students.
The unruly boys staged the strike after morning preps. They accused the deputy principal of spending unnecessarily more time with the female students and also for “rumormongering and secretly interacting with the girls.
The school shall be reopened on eleventh of July after a consultative meeting with the parents on fourth, school management indicated.
However, a section of the parents did not agree with the decision of the school management to close the school indefinitely arguing that the closure shall greatly affect the academic performance of their children.
Government authorities adjoining the The school management have been advised to empower student leadership so that incase of such incidences the prefects will detect and thwart strikes earlly enough and prevent damage of properties as perpetrated by unruly students.
