President Uhuru Kenyatta has today made the much-awaited announcements as gar as the dusk to dawn curfew is concerned.
Kenyans have been anxious about what the president will say concerning curfew and the way forward. People have been hopefully of the end of curfew hours to allow them to go back to their normal life before the pandemic.
Curfew has been there for about one and a half years. The head of state has delivered good news through announcing the end of curfew hours. The present thanked all the citizens for having been one another’s keeper since the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic.
In his speech, Uhuru warned Kenyans to remain careful as far as the Covid-19 pandemic is concerned despite the fact that curfew has been removed.
Uhuru has also announced that in the year 2020 the economy of the country grew by 0.3% and is projected to grow by 6% this year.
The Ministry of Health has also been directed to move quicky to establish an additional 50 level 5 hospitals.
There will be also the construction of 10,000 classrooms for 1 million students. Uhuru also has directed a reduction of electricity charges by 30%.
The dusk to dawn curfew was first introduced in March last year after the first case of Covid-19 was detected.
Since then, life has changed for many people who depended on hustling at night with many businesses shutting down and the cost of living becoming too high.
