Category of examiners who will receive their payment today
Basic Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang has confirmed that all KCSE examiners and markers will be paid on Monday.
Speaking in Eldoret, the PS said that even KCSE examiners will have their money by the end of the day amounting to Sh2.8 billion.
“I want to assure our principals that we have released capitations. The resources you are required to receive, we have released them,” Kipsang stated.
“It’s a process but it could be in the school accounts today or tomorrow depending on the speed of the bank,” he added.
Last year, 234,473 teachers were used to administer the national exams. These include the supervisors, invigilators and exam markers.
In secondary school, 903,260 candidates sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams which began on October 23, 2023 and ended on November 2023.
The PS spoke in Eldoret where Education CS Ezekiel Machogu is expected to release the 2023 KCSE exam.
Machogu and his team were at the State Lodge in Eldoret to brief President William Ruto.This is the first time the national examinations will be announced outside Nairobi.
Machogu was accompanied by Principal Secretary for Basic Education Belio Kipsang, Teachers Service Commission CEO Nancy Macharia and other education officials.
