The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) has come out clear to call upon the stakeholders involved in the election process and all voters to reject corrupt politicians at all costs for a better Kenya.
This comes when politicians seeking different positions across the country are selling their policies to win voters to vote for them come the August 2022 general election.
Rev. Canon Christopher Kinyanjui, the NCCK general secretary has rekindled to minds of many Kenyan citizens after he noted that the majority of Kenyans join the sector of politics mainly because of their interest in money and becoming rich.
He said that due to their selfish interests, corruption has taken root because every person joining politics wants to become rich in the twinkle of an eye.
Rev. Canon Christopher was speaking at Jumuia Conference and Country Home, Limuru when the wholesome youth for a wholesome society National Youth conference was being launched.

On youth mentorship, Kunyanjui highlighted that youths in the country are left behind and are not directly involved in economic development projects. He laid blame on religious beliefs and teachings which do not influence their views in numerous socio-cultural issues surrounding them.
Rev. Christopher further said that youths are not well represented in the country’s leadership positions. Therefore there is a need to integrate the youths in the leadership of the country and the decision making process.
” Youths should be involved in the decision-making process and be well represented in the leadership of the country. I call upon the ministry of ICT, Innovation and youth affairs to speed up the implementation of the Kenya Youth Policy 2019 for a wholesome youth for a wholesome society”. He said.
To the county government, Rev. Christopher requested for allocation of more funds to programmes targeting young people to enable the youth to rise to better and dependable citizens.
Rev Christopher finally urged the security agencies to stop terrorising the youth. He said that youths are citizens and they are not a problem to be solved through brutality.
