County government official killed in a bar
A Homa Bay County government employee was stabbed to death in a bar by his wife after the two disagreed while drinking alcohol together.
The deceased, Charles Okoth Onyango, was killed by his wife, Cindy Okoth, using a kitchen knife after a bitter exchange of words between the two.
The wife is said to have joined her husband at the drinking bar around noon and she later quarreled with him after getting drunk.
According to Homa Bay Town sitting chief Joshua Ochogo, the wife asked her husband to hand her the cell phone so she could read his text messages, but he refused.
Ochogo says this triggered the wife’s anger, who was armed with a knife, and she stabbed him in him right through his chest killing him instantly.
The administrator said the 31-year-old man’s body was taken to the Homa Bay County morgue.
Homa Bay subcounty police commander Sammy Koskei confirmed that the deceased’s wife has been arrested while investigations to the incident continue.
