County Residents Committed a Monumental Mistake
Nelson Havi who is an outspoken lawyer and former president LSK has waded into the ongoing controversy biting Meru governor and members of county assembly.
Through his social media page, Havi disclosed that he at first blamed the Members of County Assembly in the wrangles between them and the their boss.
However, following what Murega Baichu, husband to Mwangaza Kawira, said yesterday Havi perceived that the governor and her husband are at fall and are to blame for the tussle.
The former LSK president wondered how Meru residents could have committed a monumental mistake by voting Kawira as their governor.
His sentiments come after Biachu, husband to governor Mwangaza, claimed that he was being subjected to Gender Based-Violence in the ongoing tussle.
Mwangaza’s husband wrote to the Ethic and Ant-Corruption Commission seeking a clarification on his role as the first gentleman of the county
Governor Mwangaza has described the move of her opponents to Impeach her as a political witch-hunt.
She has dared the MCAs to table the impeachment motion saying she is ready to hit back at them.
She further accused the MCAs of sponsoring the petition filed by a resident saying it is hot air which does not meet legal basis.
While responding to EACC on integrity issues raised Governor kawira distanced herself from claims of nepotism in the appointment of county officials
In a statement, she said her husband is not an employee of the county government and therefore, he has never been paid by the county.
In a statement to justify her actions of appointing her husband, she cited the County Governments’ Act adding that Murega Baichu was volunteering to offer his services to the youth and help them.
