CS Kagwe Makes Major Announcement To Kenyans Ahead Of 2022 General Election Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic.
The Ministry Of Health (MOH) CS Mutai Magwe has made a major announcement to Kenyans pertaining 2022 general elections.
Today Mutai Kagwe assured Kenyans that it is possible to conduct Kenya’s 7th general elections next despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kagwe said this in documents he presented before the committee of health in response to some questions asked by the members of Parliament. The CS pointed out that some countries such as Zambia, Singapore, Burundi and the USA have successfully conducted their elections amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. This implies that Kenya can do it as well.
The CS further said that covid-19 practices meant to curb the spread of the pandemic such as handwashing, wearing of masks and social distancing will be of great help in lowering the risk of spreading the virus during elections.
IEBC is in the process of meeting all the requirements for the success of the 2022 general election.
