CS Magoha Delivers Good News To Candidates Ahead Of National Examinations.
The Ministry of Education (MOE) Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha has delivered good news to students as he confirms the date when the candidates will sit for KCPE and KCSE national examinations next year.
CS Magoha made this crucial announcement while in South Mugirango in Kisii county on Sunday. CS Magoha accompanied his fellow CS for Interior Fred Matiang’i who was touring South Kisii county.
Responding to several complaints that next year’s national examinations may catch candidates unawares due to the limited time spent in school, Prof Magoha said that there should be no cause of tension because the ministry is well aware of the challenges in the 2021 academic year and all will be factored.
Other than the limited time in the 2021 academic year, CS Magoha also said that his ministry is well aware of the ongoing situation of school fires across the country and education stakeholders are working around the clock to come up with a permanent solution for the challenge at hand.
The CS for Education revealed that the government through the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and other education stakeholders will all the factors before examinations are set and released to schools in March next year.
Magoha added that the two examinations will be designed in such a way that all the challenge due to the global Covid-19 pandemic in this academic year will be factored so that the national examinations will be student-friendly.
The National examinations will now proceed as planned. The CS confirmed that the two national examinations will be done in March 2022.
The CS Magoha further urged the candidates to stay calm as they prepare to sit for the national examinations in March 2022.
Despite, the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic, 2020 KCPE and KCSE examinations recorded an improvement compared to 2019.
