Drama As A Four Three Boy And His Girlfriend Jumps Into The River
There was drama in Kiptiren village in Bomet county after a form three boy and a form two girl from a local secondary school jumped into the swollen river to avoid the wrath of the villagers.
The form four boy who was identified as Kevin Kiplangat and his girlfriend Faith Chepkirui are said to have been indulging in indecent acts publicly on their way home from school without any shame.
Today evening the two were found by an elderly woman who was doing to fetch water from the river in a compromise position at the bank of the river.
The elderly woman raised alarm attracting the attention of the women who were weeding crops in nearby farms. They join her in screaming and within minutes multitude of people arrived to witness for themselves what was going on.
The two wanted to escape but they were already surrounded by the villagers. They had no option other than jumping in the river. They swam along until they reached a tree that stood in the middle of the river.
The lovebirds were holding themselves while in the middle of the river as the villagers watched in disbelief of what was unfolding.
Assistant Chief who arrived at the scene persuaded them to come out of the water after people were cooled down. He whisked them away from a group of women who were ready to pounce on them. The women accused the two notorious students of being disrespectful and exhibiting bad manners in the village.
Mrs Agnes Rob, a local pastor, warned the two youths against ungodly behaviour that can ruin their future life.
The Pastor advised them to avoid worldly pleasures and focus on their studies so that they lay a strong foundation for their bright future.
Mr Kenneth Rotich added that the two will be reported to the school disciplinary committee to take appropriate action to serve as an example and warning to others.
The number of teenage pregnancies, school dropouts, and early marriages has been on rise in Bomet county. Earlier the County Commissioner had warned parents against neglecting their children.
