Two parents have been detained by the police in Nyamira County on suspicion of killing their son.
The deceased, a form four student at Kiang’inda Secondary School, is claimed to have stolen Ksh50 from his older brother, Kevin Ogamba, according to the residents of Igena Itambe.
Following a fight, Kevin began physically abusing Bivon Ogamba, the youngest Ogamba brother, with the assistance of their parents, until Bivon became unconscious.
The parents, Dickson Ogamba and Leah Nyasuguta, concealed their injured son in their bedroom out of fear for the people’ fury.
It wasn’t until the sufferer raised the alarm on Tuesday owing to terrible agony that he caught the neighbors’ notice.
After receiving a call, the police arrived, brought the boy to the hospital, and detained the parents.
James Kirong, the commander of the Nyamira County Police, reported that the dead passed away soon after arriving at the Nyamira Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Zachary Mutuiri, the County Director of Education (CDE), denounced the murder and encouraged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation.
He recommended parents to use guidance and counseling techniques rather than using excessive corporal punishment to discipline their children.
