Good news as Teacher Service Commission promotes 2,400 teachers.
Good news to the teachers as teachers targeted to fill a thousand plus positions of headteachers and their deputies both in primary and secondary schools.
The announced exercise will kick off next week with interviews being conducted at the county offices. The promotions shall be based on a merit basis. Only those who qualify shall be promoted.
The competition will be very tight considering that many teachers have what it takes to compete for these positions. Over the years teachers have stagnated in the same job group. This has led to many teachers having almost similar qualifications which will make the competition for the few slots to be tight.
In September the commission had advertised the following vacancies to be filled on promotion, Secondary Principals, deputy principals, senior masters, primary headteachers, deputy headteachers, senior teachers, senior lecturers and curriculum support officers.
Besides this promotions, interview for intern teachers is also lined up for next month. The interviews will be conducted at the county offices. Those who Will qualify as per the latest merit list will be recruited.
Basic requirements for the interns recruitment shall be TSC Number, certificate of registration and all the academic documents.
Teacher internship is a program targeting unemployed teachers to equip them with competencies before they are absorbed by Teacher Service Commission under permanent and pensionable terms. Intern teachers sign a contract of one year and upon completion of the program, a teacher is awarded a certificate.
