Government Through Interior Cabinet Secretary Announces Vacant Positions For Chiefs And Assistant Chiefs – Deadline
Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs Positions To Be Filled in 90 Days – CS Kindiki
According to Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, the hiring procedure for new chief and assistant chief roles has already begun.
The plan to find and interview individuals for the aforementioned jobs is currently in place, the interior minister said during a Wednesday plenary.
He stated that posts will be filled within 90 days for locations where interviews have already been completed.
“The vacancies are a result of natural attrition, dismissal from service for officers after their cases have been concluded by the Courts or Public Service Commission, and there are no pending appeals before the Courts, promotion of the officeholders to higher offices, resignation and redesignation of the officer holders,” Kindiki stated to the House.
Kindiki continued by stating that the Service Regulations and the Scheme of Service for Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs both control the procedure for filling open positions.
According to the regulations, a vacant unit must first go through a five-step process before being filled.
The process begins with the announcement of the open post, followed by the publication of an advertisement for the position and the applicant interviews.
Making applications for appointments is the fourth phase, after which successful applicants are appointed.
The appointments will enable an efficient administrative framework across the 8 Regions, 47 Counties, 378 Sub Counties, 982 Divisions, 3,955 Locations, and 9,045 Sub Locations that make up the entire nation.
