Government to Recruit Health Promoters Countrywide
The National government has collaborated with county governments to recruitrecruit community health promoters across the country.
The promoters will facilitate early detection of conditions for referral to comprehensive attention for effective healthcare management.
According to the governmentgovernment agenda, in order to achieve desired results for affordable healthcare one promoter for should be in charge of 100 households.
Speaking during this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations President William Ruto noted that every promoter will be required to make visits to Kenyans at their homes to find out whether any conditions need to be managed through healthier lifestyle or basic medical attention.
President Ruto said, the promoters will also be required to ensure that patients with chronic diseases follow their medication, diet and general wellbeing in a manner that hospitalization will be unnecessary.
The president further said government is shaping the National Health Insurance FundNational Health Insurance Fund to meet the most basic needs of Kenyans at the bottom of the socioeconomic structure by actualising its purpose as a social medical insurance facility.
“A healthy nation is free from human suffering and is empowered to pursue their dreams and livelihoods without the hindrance and underperformance associated with poor health, ” he said.
He added that a healthy nation is a happy nation noting that the primary agenda to perfect governance is to gain freedom from diseases
President Ruto said his government is committed to providing affordable healthcare that brings everyone on board and in a manner that every Kenyans shall receive quality medical attention from the comfort of their houses.
The President stated that his administration is committed to delivering universal health care that allows every Kenyan to attain dignified healthcare at affordable cost or subscription fee.
Promoters will be monitoring the status of the community healthwise.
