Charges Labeled on Aisha Jumwa Withdrawn
The case against Aisha Jumwa over Graft of nineteen million has been Withdrawn by director of public prosecution.
The withdrawal of the Graft Charges comes after the former member of Parliament, Aisha Jumwa, was nominated by the president as a Cabinet Secretary.
Director of Public Prosecutions has issued a request to withdraw the corruption case against the former legislature Aisha Jumwa.
Aisha Jumwa, is among the Cabinet Secretary who were nominated by the President and are awaiting for vetting by the members of Parliament. Aisha Jumwa was nominated to be the Cabinet Secretary for Gender.
Aisha Jumwa was a Member of Parliament for Malindi. She had a case on Graft Charges. She was alleged to have acquired nineteen million Kenya shillings illegally.
Through the head of prosecution, the DPP’s office informed Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku that it has received orders to withdraw the case against Jumwa who is the first defendant in the case.
However, the case of the other eight individuals who were charged alongside the Cabinet Secretary nominee will continue.
Aisha Jumwa was accused alongside Wachu Omar, Kennedy Otieno, Bernard Riba, Sophia Saidi, Margaret Kalume, Robert Katana and Multiserve Contractors.
The alleged accusation took place twenty eighteen between May and October in Malindi constituency, Kilifi County.
