Happening Now: A Popular High School Dormitory In Flames.
A popular secondary school in Nandi County dormitory goes up in flames this morning destroying property worth millions.
Cases of fire have greatly reduced this term unlike last term in last when several dormitories were razed by fire some of the allegedly caused by students unrest in school.
This being third term of the 2021 academic year, the candidates and other students in the lower classes have been very busy preparing for the national examinations and end year examinations respectively.
It too unfortunately for Samoei Boys Secondary School in Nandi Country to have been affected by fire this morning as examinations are set to start next week.
The fire incident started early Sunday morning where a dormitory housing more than 190 pupils has been razed down by fire.
During the incident no casualties were reported.
According to Nandi East County Commissioner Leonard Mgute, numerous students lost all of their belongings in the blaze.
Mgute has revealed that the security team is reviewing CCTV footage to figure out what caused the fire which started 6:00 a.m.
The commissioner further said that the students will stay in school and that parents should be calm because the situation has been managed and there is no need to be worried.
