Teachers to renew their certificates after every five years.
The Education sector in the recent past has been undergoing major transformations especially in the last five years and more changes are expected in the near future.
Teachers Service Commission Chief Executive Officer while speaking to new agencies this afternoon has said that the teaching profession is soon going to look like law or the engineering sector.
During her speech, Dr Nancy Macharia said that public school teachers will have to renew their certificates after every five years as it is in law and engineering.
According to Dr Macharia, this move will ensure that the teaching fraternity is professionalized like law or engineering in the country.
This announcement has come merely a few weeks ago when professor George Magoha said that education in universities is going to undergo radical changes to improve the quality of education in the country.
Education officials and teachers across the country criticised the move by the education CS to make radical transformations in universities across the country.
How will teachers react following the latest announcement from Dr Macharia? Will they welcome this move?
