I rest my case, CS Magoha Finally Says
Professor Wainaina Paul the Vice Chancellor Kenyatta University yesterday announced his resignation after he was busted by His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Earlier, World Health Organization had revealed it’s plans to set up an emergency hub here in Kenya to cater for it’s regional operations.
Cabinet Secretary for Education George Magoha today has said he had nothing to do with the Kenyatta University land dispute that led to the sacking of Vice Chancellor Prof Paul Wainaina.
Speaking at Pumwani Boys High School in Nairobi, the CS said that in everything he does, he always acts and follows the orders and directives from his boss the President.
Professor Magoha said that if someone doesn’t like what they are told to do they should quit.
“The government owns everything and if by the wisdom of the government which is led by the president working with cabinet ministers including the vice president, it speaks in a way that repels you as a person, the most honorable thing is to walk away,” he said. the CS.
Prof Magoha added that if he had been the VC he would have done things very differently from what Prof Wainaina did.
“The government can decide that this school, site is good for a nuclear facility, once it goes through who do you think you are that you will say you will not follow,” he said.
CS said the government is the government and it is established by law.
“I don’t want to say any more than that, all the land belongs to the government and when they decide to use it for another purpose there is a way in which it is taken,” said Professor Magoha.
The VC announced to students and staff that he had been relieved of duties by the government after failing to hand over the deed of ownership of land belonging to Kenyatta University to the World Health Organization.
