Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has sent a stern warning to local media reporters against presenting misleading information to the citizens.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is an independent commission which has a mandate to conducting or supervising referenda and elections in Kenya as per the Constitution.
According to the commission, a Facebook post by the Kenya News Online which accuses IEBC of working with the Hustler Nation team is false.
The commission also refuted the allegations that the youtube channel IEBC News belongs to IEBC. IEBC has therefore followed a legal procedure by reporting the youtube channel (IEBC News) to relevant authorities to take immediate action.
The commission made it clear to the mass that the official and genuine IEBC youtube channel is; https://www.youtube.com/user/IEBCpage.
The commission further reported that those plans have been put in place to conduct an enhanced Continuous Voter Registration Exercise. “The Master Trainers are currently undergoing an induction and content development training in readiness for the Enhanced Mass Voter Registration Exercise”. The commission added.
Already the commission is on with the process of inducting the four newly appointed commissioners namely; Irene Masit, Justus Nyang’aya, Juliana Cherera and Francis Wanderi. The four commissioners will be taken through electoral processes and corporate governance aspects.
