JSC announce job vacancies in 30 counties
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced more than 800 job vacancies in 79 court stations across 30 counties.
The counties include Turkana, Nyandarua, Nakuru, Tana River, Isiolo, Kericho, Narok, Bomet, Laikipia, Uasin Gishu, Baringo, Nandi, Elgeyo Marakwet and Bungoma.
Others are Trans Nzoia, West Pokot, Machakos, Kajiado, Kitui, Makueni, Marsabit, Nyeri, Kwale, Kilifi, Lamu, Taita Taveta, Embu, Kirinyaga, Meru and Tharaka Nithi.
The application for the job vacancies, which have been termed as short-term contracts, will close on September 18, 2023.
There are three categories in the vacant posts including digitalisation agents (data entry) and (scanners operators), and digitalisation team leaders /quality assurance.
Successful candidates will help the Judiciary in the deployment of the Case Tracking System (CTS).
“The Judiciary has developed and deployed the Case Tracking System (CTS) to automate both court and registry operations with the aim of achieving expeditious delivery of justice,” JSC said in a notice on September 11, 2023.
The job will be done in a period of five to 54 days based on the station caseload and statistics.
Successful candidates under the data entry categories will be required to report to their team leaders while the team leaders are to report to station leadership.
Those who are interested in any of the categories should have a minimum of C- in their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Further, all applicants should have a certificate in computer studies and living close to the court. For the data entry agents, applicants should come from the region of a specific court station.
“Previous experience in data entry or engagement with Ajira ( Ajira training certificate) will be an added advantage,” JSC added.
Those applying as scanning operators should be able to operate a scanner.
Team leader/quality assurance applicants need to have a diploma certificate in a related field and a proof of leadership role in digital work.

Data entry agents will be mandated with receiving files from the in-charge of registries, preparation of physical files to include unbinding, document sorting age separation listing pagination, indexing, and binding the documents to their original state and order.
Further, the successful candidates for scanning operators will be responsible for scanning of all prepared documents, renaming the scanned images appropriately, undertaking quality checks for completed scanned files, saving scanned images onto a Network Storage System and uploading the scanned images to CTS.
The team leaders’ roles will include receiving of files from the registry in charge, allocating duties and responsibilities to the team, undertaking quality checks for scanned documents and approvement for uploading to CTS and ensuring the file is returned to its original state Prepare attendance list.
They will also be required to prepare the final report for submission to the station leadership.
