Just In, School Dormitory Up in Flames
Teachers, Parents and learners are all in shock and counting losses in terms of billions after a Dormitory is swallowed up by flames.
The stakeholders together with the school administration can not express the sad news as they are in great shock.
According to reliable sources, a Dormitory that was accommodating sixty eight students went up in Flames destroying property worth millions of shillings.
The fire broke out in the afternoon when the learners were still in the tuition block undertaking their studies. The actual cause of the fire is not yet known.
However, the school administration has indicated that the fire could have been caused by electric faults, but this is yet to be confirmed.
The entire Dormitory was reduced to ashes including all the belongings of the pupils. Nothing was salvaged from the fire.
Confirming the incident, Assistant County Commissioner Nyamira County Mr. Ndirangu Peter Ndirangu said that there were no casualties.
The school administrator said that the police have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. It is so unfortunate that the fire destroyed property approximated at a cost of 8 million shillings.
The headteacher assured the parents that their children are safe at the school as security measures have been put in place already and there is nothing to worry about.
The area assistant chief county commissioner has asked well wishers, county and national governments and Non Governmental Organizations to step in and help the institution rebuild the Dormitory and to provide the learners with amenities they lost in the fire.
