Just In: Several KCPE Candidates Transferred To Other Examination Centres Hours Before Exam Started This Morning Due To Insecurity
The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education national examinations kicked off this morning in all parts of the country despite insecurity in some parts of the country.
Insecurity in some regions in Rift Valley such as Baringo, Pokot, Laikipia, Marsabit, Turkana has been a big threat to the education sector in the recent past following a series of bandit attacks.
The cases of banditry activities in some parts of Rift Valley has been on a rise causes of instability in the relevant provinces.
The most affected are the candidates who were to sit for the national examinations amidst the rise in the insecurity in the region.
The government of Kenya has been putting spirited effort to restore security in the affected regions to ensure that all 2021 KCPE and KCSE take their National examinations in a secure environment.
Today class 8 candidates from Lorogon primary school were ferried using GSU vehicle to Kainuk primary schools to sit for their KCPE exams under tight security.
The candidates were moved to a neighborhood scbool to offer a safer ground to do their exams over fear of banditry attack which may disrupt the examination process.
In the recent days, parents expressed their fear saying a number of Kcpe pupils may be locked out of the exam after being displaced due to the high attacks.
Last week a number area politicians blamed the government saying that if it can’t protect its people they should be given fire arms to protect themselves.
So far since morning when the examination started all over the country no case of insecurity has been reported.
