Doctors In Hot Soup After What Happened In Kapkatet Mortuary on Monday morning.
Residents of Kericho county were in shock yesterday after a 32-year old man who was by mistake declared dead started screaming while being attended to by a mortuary attendant.
The report has it that the patient who was identified as Peter Kiplangat Kigen was on Tuesday morning, 14th September 2021 taken to the facility for treatment. The patient was said to have fainted at home before he was rushed to Kapkatet hospital.
The patient’s uncle reported that the condition of the patient worsened to an extent that doctors could not handle the matter and doctors informed them that Kigen is already dead and they were directed to take the body to the mortuary.
The uncle further reported that the mortuary attendants received the body and started the process of preserving the body.
However, at 10.30 am things were different in the mortuary. It was reported that when the mortuary attendant was making an incision on the right leg of the “dead man” to infuse formalin, the man regained consciousness and commenced screening.
The unexpected drama attracted in the mortuary attendants ran for their safety while shouting that the dead man has resurrected.
An investigation has been launched by the health committee to establish the truth behind this ugly scene.
The health committee of the premise now wants answers on why the doctors decided to lie despite the patient being alive.
However, the immediate reported claimed that Doctors ignored Kigen and lied to the relatives that the patient was dead. This was termed as negligence by the doctors.
It was further reported the pathologist who was identified as Titus Ngululu brought a fake report about Kigen’s death.
Chances are that the pathologists never did the post mortem.
