Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) has announced the recruitment of clerical officers who wi be deployed to work in ten (10) locations in Gem and Bondo sub-counties.
KEMRI researches different diseases including but not limited to Malaria and HIV.
The continued growth of KEMRI countrywide has led to a deficit of personnel to work in various branch offices.
The vacancies advertised by KEMRI welcome personel interested to work in research tasks in the Malaria branch in the above-mentioned areas.
Advertised Position: Clerical officers (4 Positions)
The interested candidates should have the following requirements;
- KCSE grade of D+ and above
- The applicant is required to stay in Gem or Bondo
- The applicant should have a good language command in English, Kiswahili and Dholuo in both written and spoken.
- The applicant Must have skills in data collection in a clinical setting.
- The applicant must possess a valid motorcycle riding license.

- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Be in a position to work independently and/or in a team.
- Be able to respect/appreciate a person’s privacy
- Job description and Responsibilities
- Enrolling participants
- Carrying out home visits to collect timely and accurate data.
- Schedule Home Visits
- Conduct interviews and complete study forms
- Keep a diary for home visits
- Communicate with the Field Coordinator on-field issues
- Attending field study meetings.
- Giving reports on work progress and challenges
- Be outgoing, industrious, honest, respectful and punctual.
- Any other relevant task which may be assigned from time to time as per the immediate demands.
Employment Terms
KEMRI will have a one (1) year renewable contract with probation in the first 3 months as per the schemes of services of the institute. Remuneration is based on the salary scale.
