Kiabianga University Reopens After It Was closed Last Week Due To Students Unrest.
University of Kibianga continuing students have been ordered to report back after the institution was closed indefinitely last week due to student unrest.
The students are to resume in three phases starting with the fourth year, followed by the third year and lastly the second year.
The 2017/2018 group (fourth years) were to resume today 20th September 2021 to finish their last semester.
The second years (2020/2021 group) and third years (2019/2020 group) will resume on September 22 and September 26 respectively to begin a new semester.
The Kabianga University students went on a rampage on the 13th of September after the administration announced fees increment by Ksh 10,000.
The demonstration over the above-mentioned fees increment was staged by the fourth year, second year and third-year students.
The university senate council decided to close the institution indefinitely leaving only the first years.
