KNEC Reveals The Number Of Examiners To Be Contracted To 2021 KCPE and KCSE Examinations
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has revealed the number of examiners that will be contracted to mark 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
The counsel will contract over 30,000 Examiners to mark this year’s national examinations.
According to the Council, the examiners include newly trained ones and experienced group.
This number of examiners will be expected to mark the scripts and complete them in good time so that examinations results can be released towards the end of April 2022 before schools reopen for the first term for tgfe 2022 academic year.
The 2021 KCPE and KCSE examiners can download their marking invitation letters indicating the marking centre, payment rates and other logistics via the knec website once they are posted.
KNEC expects the invites Examiners to visit the website to accept or decline the invitation. The Examiners who would wish to decline the invitation are required to give reason for declining.
In a weeks’ time the portal will be open for the invited Examiners to download the invitation letters.
KNEC requires all the Examiners to adhere to the strike res and regulations as stipulated in the letter and to do the following while in the marking centres:
1. Normal marking of examination answers scripts;
2. Checking of marked answer scripts to ensure validity, reliability and accuracy of mark allocation and
3. Verification and adjudication of captured marks.
KNEC will invite Examiners in all the examinable subjects listed below to mark KCSE examinations:
