KUCCPS Is Set To Announce Reviewed Degree Cluster Points Today.
The Kenya University and College Central Placement Services (KUCCPS) is set to announce reviewed university entry cluster points for degree programs.
The KUCCPS chief executive Agnes Wahome said that this morning all university stakeholders are going to hold a meeting today 15th November 2021 to discuss the analyzed and reviewed cluster points for the students who qualify to join higher learning institutions to pursue different degree programs.
According to KUCCPS chief executive Agnes Wahome the meeting is geared towards establishing the equitable, fair and effective placement of all qualified candidates to all higher levels of learning in tertiary educational institutions.
Wahome explained her point that for equitable fair and effective placement to be realised, higher levels of integrity must be upheld
While speaking in a meeting at Nakuku yesterday, Wahome noted that there is a great need to explore level grounds and come up with the agreement on the minimum requirements for each degree program in joining university so that candidates are not leat in a state of confusion when choosing their lifetime careers.
She added that KUCCPS alone can not decide on the matter and hence a call for input from university stakeholders.
KUCCPS have very little room to make decisions on cluster points. Our role is to collate information, come up with reviews and criteria for placing qualified candidates to universities, She said in a statement.
KICCPS is expected to present during the meeting the reviewed cluster document for clusters 1-20 (One to twenty).
The document is also expected to come along with addressing placement and possible alignments with time especially in highly competitive degree programs such as medicine (with an only annual capacity of 460) and Aeronautical engineering which only has 24 slots at the Catholic University of Kenya.
