KUCCPS Sends A Crucial Reminder To Secondary School Principals
Schools principals have been reminded by KUCCPS to ensure all the their 2021 KCSE candidates choose their courses before deadline.
The Principals are urged to upload the candidate’s choices into the system by April 1.
It has been noted that majority of the 2021 KCSE candidates have not selected thier courses online on the KUCCPS portal. With the limited time remaining, over 800,000 KCSE candidates are required to select courses they wish to pursue in universities and colleges.
KUCCPS has set until April 1 as the last day that all candidates should have their selections submitted to the government.
Dr Mercy Wahome, the KCCPS chief executive officer has requested school principals to ensure that all their candidate’s choices of various courses are uploaded to the KUCCPS portal before deadline.
According to Wahome, by the end of last week about half of the schools across the country had uploaded the course application forms that students filled before exam started.
Dr Wahome further said that students will always be given the opportunity once they receive their results to revise courses.
She advised that there are enough vacancies in both public and private institutions to absorb all the candidates who have sat for KCSE thus year.
It is one of the requirements by KUCCPS for form four students to apply for KUCCPS degree, diploma, certificate, and artisan courses and submit them to the placement agency through an online portal.
Last year nearly 500,000 students who sat for KCSE examination were not placed in any university or college, a scenario that KUCCPS do not want to reoccur this year.
“We are determined to help students make the right selection of courses that will help them in their careers and therefore, we do not want any student to be left out”, Wahome said.
