The Kenya Universities and College Placement Service (KUCCPS) systems for inter-institutional transfer for the students joining colleges and universities starting this month is now open.
The students who would like to change their courses and institutions are now free to apply for the transfer before 30th September 2021.
According to the report from KUCCPS, the inter-institutional process is for the students who were previously placed in different courses and institutions this year and wish to change either the course or institution.
KUCCPS advised the students seeking transfer from one institution to another to log in to the students and follow the steps therein.
KUCCPS further added that a transfer can only be completed, endorsement must be done by both institutions where the applicant was initially placed and the institution where the applicant wishes to transfer to.
The student seeking transfer is expected to meet the cut-off points to the university he or she wishes to transfer to and other minimum requirements for successful transfer.
During application, the student can retain the course placed early or change both the course and institution.
The applicant is required to pay the application fee of Kshs. 1000 through the KUCCPS pay bill number 820201 once the system prompts you to pay.
After application, the transfer may be accepted or rejected. If the transfer application reverted, the applicant can initiate a fresh application but the student would not be allowed to resend the request to the same institution for the same program.
KUCCPS admission letters are available for download in the students portal plus other institutions from the institution a student is placed.
Since the establishment of KUCCPS to coordinate and manage the placement of Government-sponsored students to Kenyan universities and TVET institutions to available programs, students have had the opportunity to choose from a wide range of most preferred institutions and courses online from their homes.
Students are therefore urged to carefully select their courses and institutions to avoid transfer applications for change of instruction or course after placement.
