Kwale High School Reclaims Lost Glory in 2023 KCSE Results
Kwale High school, a national school in Matuga sub-county has reclaimed back its lost glory as three students score A plain in the just released KCSE results.
The school also received 24 A- (minuses) 87 B+, 114 B, 88 B minus, 27 C+, and 3C scoring a mean score of 8.979 (a mean grade of B) higher than that of last year’s mean score of 8.395 (a mean grade of B-).
The first position was taken by Daniel Muasya Musembi who scored a mean grade of A with 84 points and A in all seven subjects.
He was followed by Bakari Nyondo and Brian Mumo who scored A with 81 points respectively.
The school had a total of 343 candidates who sat for the 2023 KCSE examinations.
Their performance has once again put Kwale on a national grid for being a county that has produced top students in the Coastal region.
The school has made history after beating their neighbours Matuga Girls which is also a national school.
The Matuga High School has registered 5A-, 17 B+, 38 B, 76B-, 50 C+, 35C, 9C-, 1D+ and 1D.
They scored a mean score of 7.703 a slight improvement from last year’s mean score of 7.38.
In 2022, Matuga Girls made a name saving the county from shame after producing a single A of 81 points in Kwale ending a six-year dry spell of Grade A in the region in the KCSE exams.

Kwale has been performing poorly since 2016 with most schools failing to get As.
Speaking through a phone interview, Kwale High School Chief Principal Michael Mutua attributed the outstanding performance to hard work and reward from God.
He said God has been faithful to them to keep their dream of becoming the best school alive.
“God above all, in as much as we worked har. He is to be praised,” he said.
Mutua also congratulated the students for giving their best to bring glory and make both the school and parents happy.
The principal said the students were very disciplined and focused on their education.
He said the school staff and management are also to be given credit for their determination and resilience to overcome challenges to produce great candidates.
