Makueni County Offers 453 ECDE Teachers Permanent Jobs
Makueni County has confirmed 453 Early Childhood Development Education, ECDE teachers into permanent and pensionable terms.
Executive Member for Education Makueni County Elizabeth Muli has said that 453 ECDE teachers have been converted to permanent and pensionable terms this month.
In addition to the first cohort, a total of 497 ECDE teachers have been employed permanently.
Area Governor Mutula Kilonzo junior while addressing the ECDE teachers at the his compound, encouraged them to do continuous learning to get promotions when such opportunities arise.
He was thrilled to hear that the ECDE students were demonstrating the teachers’ confidence, which he described as very impressive.
“I want everyone to appreciate teachers at all times and for them to always stand up. Governor Mutula stated, “You are now employees of the government just like any other staff; embrace who you are and perform your duties as required.”
He said that both nationally and locally, teachers ought to receive fair compensation.
The governor urged educators to have a thorough understanding of the psychology of young students, revealing that white boards will be used in place of black ones because the latter might have an adverse effect on both teachers’ and students’ health.
He commended the educators who had been there since 2014 for their tenacity in the face of many challenges.
She said, “Of the 453, 372 are diploma holders, 70 are certificate holders, and 10 will be converted next week because their applications were a little late.”
She went on to say that in addition to providing learning materials to instructors and ECDE centers, they have also made the classrooms welcoming to younger students.
Jennifer Julius, a recently converted teacher from Kalameni ECDE Center, expressed gratitude to the county government and said that they would perform their jobs properly and that their lives will improve as a result.
