The WhatsApp messaging app is set to disable its services in more than forty-three smartphone models starting November 2021. Millions of smartphone users who own the stated phone models will not access or use WhatsApp messaging app come November.
The messaging app explained that the move is targeting certain old smartphone models operating on Android and iOS.
According to the UK’s Daily Mirror report which was released on Friday, September 3, the users of the phones which shall be disabled shall not send messages, media, videos and make video calls through the app.
The company said that the move of phasing out the old models and refocusing on new model smartphones or gadgets is aimed at improving efficiency.
The long list of smartphones to be disabled from accessing WhatsApp services include models with Android 4.0.4 as well as iPhones with iOS 9 or earlier installed.

Initially, the minimum recommended requirements for smartphones to support WhatsApp messenger were Android OS 4.0.3 or above and internet data plan.
