The Ministry of Education changes the dates for Term 2 2023.
In a letter from April 24, 2023, the Principal Secretary for Basic Education, Belio Kipsang, said that the midterm dates for the second term will change. The memo said that the midterms for the second term would take place from June 29 to July 2. But PS has changed the date from June 27 to July 1 of 2023.
This change happened after the chairman of the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA), Kahi Indimuli, asked the PS to change the dates so that they could go to the KESSHA meeting.
The KESSHA chairman asked for the midterm dates for the second term to be moved back so that they could go to the 46th KESSHA meeting. Our team saw the letter.
PS Belio Kipsang has written about the changes in the letter below.
REF: APPLICATION TO EXTEND MIDTERM DEADLINES
There is a letter about this issue from the National Chairman of the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association, dated March 26, 2023 and given the reference number KESSHA/NATCONFF/3/VOL.1/23.
The letter points out that the midterms for the second term are currently set for the same dates as the KESSHA 46th National Conference.
The Ministry knows that the National KESSHA Conference is a big deal because it gives school managers a chance to look back and talk about how they run their schools. So, the election dates for the second term of 2023 have been changed to start on June 27 and end on July 1, 2023.
All school managers have to pay attention to the times and stick to them.
DR. BELIO R. KIPSANG
PRINCIPAL SECRETARY
