Learning activities in moi university main campus have been paralyzed following the strike for both no teaching and teaching staff members.
Following their strike, the students in the university have been asked to vacate university premises latest tomorrow noon. From the observation the strike will not come to an end any time soon.
According to the Senate committee the decision to send the students home was meant to help them in two ways. One, it will help them in reducing money expenditure. Two, the students will not waste time in the university whereas there is no learning taking place.
However, the students did not take the news well. They said that this is not a good time in their life’s and are urging the government to resolve the issue of strike as soon as possible.
They also added that the issue of strike is derailing them as they want to complete their studies at the university level on time or within the stipulated period / time.
Some students have asked to be allowed to stay within the institution instead of going home as they want to revise or prepare for their exams which will be done in the next few days/ weeks.
The non teaching and the teaching staff members went on strike last week because they have not been paid their salaries for approximately fifteen months.
