Motivational Kitty to be Introduced in Schools Aspiring Governor Promises
Aspiring Governor has promised to introduce motivational kitty in all public schools if elected in the August general elections to serve as the governor. He was speaking today during his endorsement for the race.
Johnstone Muthama, aspiring governor of Machakos County, has promised to invent a motivational kitty to reward high school students in order to encourage them to work hard and improve educational standards in the area.
Muthama said educational standards in the area have fallen, but there has been no initiative by any politician to encourage good academic performance.
“It is a pity that educational standards in the county are low, but we have teachers who have produced the best results nationwide,” he said sadly.
The aspirant revealed that if he wins the general election on August 9, he will see to it that a new school bus is given to the best school, a new library built and kshs 100,000 as awards.
He said that, such initiatives will make learning more interesting and students and schools will compete favourably.
He was talking in his home after teachers from KUPPET and KNUT approved his offer as governor.
Mr. Muthama and his running mate prof. Faith Muli, presented their proposals to streamline the education sector in Machakos County starting with the ECDE sector.
Its proposals include the recruitment of two ECDE teachers per center, the introduction of school feeding programs in ECDE centers and the timely provision of scholarships to students in need.
He also promised to relieve parents of the burden of paying teachers under the PTA.
He expressed his commitment to work with the various teachers’ unions to improve educational standards in the country as he has the best interest of the county at heart, especially in education.
“Education is a very sensitive sector. If neglected, everything else will collapse due to the production of unskilled personnel, “he said.
Teachers have promised to support Muthama’s government campaigns to make sure he wins in the August general election.
