Parents Expect Children Back Home From This Date For Half Term Break Following The MoE’s Latest Reviewed 2022 Academic Calendar.
All students in both primary and secondary schools are going to have a three-day half term break for first term of the 2022 academic year.
Officially 2022 first term commenced on the 25th April, last month with the term running for only ten weeks. Within the a ten-week first term, I was learners will have a three-day-break between 26th May and 29th May 2022 across all schools in the country.
It is now the second and the last time school academic year is starting almost mid of the year since the Corona Virus Pandemic invaded the country and affected most school activities.
According to the Second term for the 2022 academic year will kick off as from 11th June 2022. The term will also be a 10-week-term that will also have a 3-day-break between 11th August and 14th August 2022.
All Schools will close for a one week holiday on 17th September, 2022.
The last term in this year (Term three) that is shorter by a week comparing it with the first two terms, is expected to start on 26th September, 2022
This term will have no half term break across all schools. It should be noted that it is in this same third term that all the Kenyan National examinations for class eight candidates(KCPE), form four students(KCSE) and Class six pupils (KPSEA) will be conducted.
As per to the KNEC timetable, the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations will be conducted between 28th November and 1st December, 2022.
Thereafter, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations will follow between 1st December and 23rd December, 2022. Marking exercise will take place between 2nd January 2023 and 20th January 2023.
KNEC is also yet to set dates in which Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) will take place.
The new KPSEA assessments are meant to replace the KCPE under the new competence based curriculum.
This new assessment will see smooth transition from primary school to Junior Secondary school
