Principals Transfered in Unusual Operation
Two principals have been moved to new stations in an unusual operation at the beginning of a second term.
The unusual changes done by the Teachers Service Commission are part of reversal of the delocalization of teachers.
Mr. Barasa Samwel Kiminisi who have been serving as the principal of Chewoyet High School has been transferred to St. Patrick Naitiri Boys in Bungoma North, Bungoma County. Chewoyet High school is among the national schools in the country. It is found in West Pokot.
Mr. Barasa will be swapping places with Stephen Akuto who now moves to Chewoyet high school to take over from him.
Handing over ceremony was done last week on Friday by the West Pokot Teacher Service Commission Director Benard Kimachas.
Kiminisi for the better part of his teaching career has been teaching in West Pokot. He served at one point as the principal of Pser Secondary school before he received promotion to head a national school, Chewoyet high school. Before the promotion to Serve as the principal, he worked as a deputy principal at Kapenguria Boys.
On the other hand, Akuto, a native of West Pokot County was earlier the principal of Sook Boys before being moved to head Naitiri Boys.
Chewoyet Boys recorded one of the best performances in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations registering a mean score of eight point three an improvement from seven point zero six the year before.
On the same note, principal of Kipsuter Boys High School in Bomet County have transferredtransferred. The students went on strike to protest the transfer of their Principal.
During the protest the students marched to the county headquarters on yesterday morning to present their grievances to senior education officers though no ugly incidents were reported, Mr. Phanton Analo, the Chepalungu sub-county police commander noted.
