The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (Epra) has announced to lower the fuels prices countrywide.
The government’s promise to lower the cost of fuel in the country came to pass yesterday after EPRA announced a reduction in the prices across the board.
According to the review by EPRA, a litre of super petrol and diesel were reduced by Sh 5 and Sh 7.28 respectively. After the reduction, a litre of super petrol and diesel will drop Sh 129.72 and Sh 110.60 respectively starting November 14.
The State House intervened after the fuel prices increased last month. Epra was then directed to lower fuel prices despite inadequate funds in the kitty that had been used to keep prices low since March.
The new price in Mombasa will stand at Sh127.46 per litre of petrol, Sh108.36 for diesel and while in Kisumu will pay Sh130.12, Sh111.3 and Sh104.26 for petrol, diesel and kerosene respectively.
The fuel prices in Nakuru will be Sh129.24 for petrol, Sh110.43 for diesel and Sh103.39 for kerosene.
In Eldoret, the prices will decrease to Sh130.13, Sh111.32 and Sh104.27 for petrol, diesel and kerosene respectively.
