Rights Activist On Spot Over School Fires.
Fred Matiang’i cabinet Secretary for the interior has blamed activists for rights over the school fires that are being reported on a daily basis.
The students have persistently become more unruly each passing day and it is all thanks to activists for human rights.
Because of which it has been difficult for the government to impose sanity in the sector of education.
Despite all the interference from the human rights activists the Government is going to do what it takes to bring back law and orderliness in the education management sector.
The Government is so concerned with the frequent fracas being caused by students in schools and the government will not watch under the nose but will put some measures in place to curb the behavior.
George Magoha the Cabinet Secretary for Education Ministry while speaking at Egentonto primary in Kisii County (south Mugirango) said that corporal punishment must be reintroduced in our schools as one of the measures to curb indiscipline cases in schools that have resulted in school fires.
Professor George Magoha was in company of Doctor Fred Matiangi and other leaders attending a function in Kisii County at Egentonto primary school.
Canning students for misbehaviour in schools is not a new thing. We were caned during our time and that is what made us be where and who we are this date, professor Magoha said.
He added that nobody died because of canning hence reintroducing canning in the education system will not be a mistake it should have been done like yesterday.
Professor George Magoha said that he is adamant that corporal punishment should be reintroduced in schools the soonest because having rogue students in our schools is something the government cannot afford.
On a different note, he said that national examinations for the year 2021 which are to be done in 2022 March are ready and that the government is ensuring that the exercise will be done without anomalies.
