Ruto Appoints New Director Of Public Prosecutions
President William Ruto has appointed a new director of public prosecutions DPP.
Renson Ingonga has been appointed as as the new DPP by President Ruto as per the gazette notice dated September 20, 2023.
The newly appointed DPP (Renson Ingonga) is now set to assume the office succeeding Noordin Haji who is the current National Intelligence Service director general.
President Ruto appointment Renson Mulele Nganga based on the powers conferred by Article 157 (2) of the Constitution and in accordance with the procedure set out under section 8 (8) of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Act, 2013.
Mulele will serve on an eight-year term on the office of the Director of Public Commission.
MPs last week unanimously approved his nomination to the position.
Education background and experience
Ingonga is an advocate of the High Court and has been a senior Deputy Director of Public Prosecution in charge of the North Eastern region before his nomination by the President.
He holds a master of Law from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law.
He also has a Law degree from Moi University.
