Sad News To Intern Teachers Who Will Not Renew Their Contract
The teacher Service Commission employed more than six thousand teachers on contract terms.
The internship programme is aimed at equip teachers who have graduated from various universities and have registered with Teacher Service Commission with practical skills on their teaching areas before they can secure permanent jobs with the commission.
Competencies and their teaching experience will be improved through mentorship and exposure as they perform duties assigned to them in various institutions.
However, the internship programme is suppose to run for one year only after which it must be renewed.
The commission has therefore send a crucial warning to all internship teachers whose contract will expire this year.
They are required to renew their contract by December this year failure to which you will cease to be an employee of Teacher Service Commission on contractual terms.
The renewal shall only be done online through TSC website. The portal shall be open for the same early next month.
All intern teachers are urged to be keen on checking the portal so that they are not left out on this very important exercise.
The contract will expire but the intern teachers should not be worried as they will not be rendered jobless. TSC has given them an opportunity to renew the contract.
Internship programme has helped in reducing the number of unemployed teachers. This is a good move by the government to curb unemployment among youths who have graduated.
