School children disappear Mysteriously
Fear and anxiety have gripped Residents of Kisii County over the rate at which children are disappearing from their homes to unknown places.
The residents some of whom are been affected believe their children are being kidnapped by unknown assailants for reasons best known to them.

They expressed concerns over the issue and asked the police to intervene and assist in the search for the disappeared children as well as bring to book the culprits.
One of the shocking incidences involves the disappearance of a standard seven Boy at Monianku Primary School who reportedly disappeared on his way back from school in May 2023 and has never shown up ever since.
According to his mother Mrs. Mocheche Mekenye, his 12-year-old Son Kenyatta Mekenye left school in the evening in the company of other pupils but never reached home.
The mother said they reported the matter to Nyamaiya police station the same day of disappearance but no positive feedback has been received.
She appealed to anyone with information that can help with finding her Son to avail it or report to any nearby police station.
The incident comes barely a month after another boy from the Nyanturago area of Nyaribari Masaba also disappeared. The boy had accompanied his father to the church but when he went outside to play with the other children he was never seen again.
According to his friends, two people appeared at the scene and asked the boy to show them the way leading to his uncle’s home.
The innocent boy who accepted the stranger’s request followed them and never returned.
After three days, the grandfather and the victim’s parents informed the police who started tracing the boy.
Fortunately while acting on a tip-off, the police found the kidnapped boy at Ntimaru town, Kuria East Sub-county.
The mother said the boy was rescued from strangers who were crossing the border with the boy after which he was hosted at the assistant Chief’s home.
