School heads given deadline in payment of co-curricular activity fees
County Directors in Nyanza region have been directed to instruct school heads to deposit funds meant to cover the deficit of monies meant for second term regional and national co-curricular activities by Tuesday, June 20.
In a memo, dated June 12, 2023 addressing all County Directors of Education (CDEs) in the region, Nyanza Regional Director of Education (RDE) Nelson Sifuna referred to the resolutions of their initial meeting on May 11 regarding the amount required per student at different levels.
“For the success of these activities each primary school will remit out of the Co-curricular Ministry of Education (MoE) funding a total of Ksh20 where Ksh9 shall be used to run activities at the Sub County, Ksh6 at the County and Ksh5 at the Region. For JSS activities, a total of Ksh100 shall be remitted from MoE; funding Ksh50 to the Sub County, Ksh30 to the County and Ksh20 to the region,” he said.
The Director added: “For secondary school activities a total of Ksh100 shall be remitted from MoE funding Ksh50 to the Sub County, Ksh30 to the County, and Ksh20 to the region.”
He noted that the funds should be deposited in the following bank accounts;
