Suspects arrested transporting donkey meat to the market
Police officers arrested several suspects who were transporting donkey meat to the market ahead of new year festivities.
The ten suspects were arrested in MakueniMakueni County by the police officers for illegally transporting and selling donkey meat in the region.
The suspects who have been identified as Antony Kiiru, Samson Kamau, Paul Kabura, Cyrus Nthumbi, Isaac Njoroge, Johnstone Kilunja, Samuel Mwangi, Andrew Kithiki, Carol Makau and Francis Makau, were arrested today after police intercepted two motor vehicles , a Toyota Fielder registration number KDB 991U and a Toyota Wish registration number KCK 434M ferrying donkey meat.

From the investigation, the preliminary results suggests that the donkey meat was on transport to Shauri Moyo Market in Nairobi as indicated by the National Police Service in a statement in tweeter.
After interrogating the suspects, police successfully identified the location where the donkeys were slaughtered.
National policepolice service official further revealed that a multi-agency team of National Police Service OfficersOfficers and Public Health Officers visited the slaughter scene later in the day and retrieved 25 skinned heads and several hooves of donkeys from a pit within a homestead of one of the suspects.
The official added that other exhibits recovered from the scene were crude tools suspected to have been used for the slaughter.
The ten suspects were busted on their way as they were ferrying donkey meat to the market.
