Teachers Working In War-Torn Areas To Get Transfers- Kuppet
The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers is an independent body that was formed by secondary school teachers in 1985.
The KUPPET Secretary General Mr. Akello Misori has today said that teachers Working in war torn areas cannot report unless the security in the affected areas is restored.
Kuppet, mainly formed to fight for betterment of terms and conditions of service of teachers has declared its standard to stick to its objectives for the sake of the helpless teachers across the country.
The announcement that KUPPET Secretary General Misori made today that teachers will not report to work in war-torn areas is great news to teachers working in the affected areas.
While Speaking in Kisumu after a church service, Misori urged the Kenyan government to employ appropriate techniques of ensuring that insecurity problems in different parts of the country especially North Rift are solved.
Misori pointed out that no teacher should volunteer to work in an insecure place because it poses a great risk to their lives and their families and dependants at large.
The announcement comes only a few days after Misori had threatened that teachers will go on strike if teachers needs are not met by the Teachers Service Commission.
