*The Amount of Money that each of the 20,000 needy students from Embu County Will Get as Bursary*
Twenty thousand needy secondary school going students from County of Embu will benefit from sixty four million shillings phase one bursaries from the county.
The beneficiaries were drawn from two hundred and sixty schools across the county. The amount that each one of them will receive will vary from two thousand shillings to ten thousand shillings depending on the level of their needs.
Embu county executive education committee member said the bursaries will ensure that needy students access education and their parents are relieved from the financial constraints. John Kiamati was speaking this in Embu Talent Academy to representatives and principals when he was issuing bursary cheques.
Education Executive Committee Member said that stakeholders who will be vettiny beneficiaries must ensure that only the deserving students will benefit.
Lunch money which many day schools charge four thousand shillings should be made optional, he argued.
Kiamati John further announced that they are working to ensure that the funds for other phases, that is two and three, are processed and released on due time. These funds will benefit needy students in universities, boarding secondary schools and tertiary intuitions.
The Executive Committee Member called upon policy makers to come up with another scheme that will provide full scholarship to the bright but needy learners.
