The Three Kamiti Prison Escapees To Face Fresh Charges.
The interior cabinet secretary, Dr Matiangi, while speaking at Kamiti maximum prison said that the three Escapees who were captured on Thursday are to face fresh charges alongside nine prison wardens who are suspected that they might have helped them to escape.
Abdalla Shikanda, Juma Odhiambo and Mohamed Ali are the terror suspects who broke out of Kamiti Prison early this week under unknown circumstances.
The Three were captured and arrested along Tana River and Mwingi borders in the deep forest after the members of the public who identified them tipped the police about their hideout.
The Interior Cabinet Secretary asked Kenyans to be more vigilant of any suspicious occurrences even as he emphasized that the Government of Kenya and his Ministry is very vigilant and on high alert to counter any impending terror threats posed by the enemy within the country and at all of its entry points.
All Kenyans together must be watchful and careful because we are not yet out of the woods, CS Fred Matiangi added. The Government through the Ministry of Interior has raised their level of alertness to ensure that its citizens are kept safe from any terror-related activities.
He said that the screening systems within the airport, railway terminus and other entry points have been changed to cater for increased safety measures in the country. There is patrolling twenty-four-seven everywhere especially along the borders.
