Tough times ahead for KCSE 2022 Candidates with Grade C+
Out of the 876,000 plus candidates who sat for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations, only 173,000 candidates managed to score grade C+ and above.
The larger percentage of the 2022 KCSE Candidates scored below grade C+ in the just released results.
According to KUCCPS, the minimum entry grade to the university is a C+. This therefore means that only twenty two percent or so will qualify to join various universities and pursue degree courses of their choice.
However, time for celebrations part two for those candidates who scored a C+ is yet to come. It is true that they have met the minimum requirements to join the university.
The challenge though is that whether the government will be able to fund their studies or they will enroll as self sponsored or parallel students.
Whether they will be given government sponsorship is something that is yet to be understood clearly.
The indications as at now is that these candidates will enroll for parallel programs, they will sponsor themselves throughout their studies without receiving any funding or financial support in form of subsidies from the government.
