TSC Advertises Over 14,000 Vacancies In July Mass Teacher Recruitment.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has advertised over 14,000 primary and secondary school teachers vacancies.
According to the TSC advert as revealed by people daily paper, the commission seeks to employ 5000 teachers in secondary to support 100 per cent transition policy and address the existing teacher shortage in sedentary schools countrywide.
Of the 5000 thousand vacancies, 3872 are for secondary school teachers, 28 for teachers training colleges (TTCs) and and 1000 for primaty school teachers.
The commission has also declared 8230 posts for teachers who have exited service through natural attrition. 6539 are for primary school teachers while while 1631 posts are for secondary school teachers.
For one to qualify as a secondary school teacher, one has to be a Kenyan citizen, holder of at least a diploma in education, and must be registered by the Teachers Service Commission.
Any tutor seeking to apply for TTS posts, Must be a Kenyan citizen with at least a Bachelor’s degree in education and registered by the Teachers Service Commission.
For Primary school tutors, one must be a Kenyan citizen, at P1 certificate holder in education and above.
According to TSC, the 2022 – 2023 financial year TSC employment guidelines will apply during the recruitment process.
Further TSC hinted that the list of shortlisted candidates and interviews venues and dates will be published by 15th July 2022.
“Shortlisted candidates will be required to carry their original cerficates both academic and professional”, TSC wrote.
Following the announcement, TSC has warned teachers against filling more than one form during employment exercise as it has been experienced previously.
“Filling of two or more forms will lead to disqualification”, TSC warned.
Successful candidates will be posted to serve the commission in any part in the country and not necessarily the county in the school which interviews were conducted.
In the same note, the commission also re-advertised 764 posts for primary school and 80 posts secondary school teachers on permanent and pensionable terms Garissa, Wajir and Mandera counties.
